Africa will be hosting us for about 5 months, so we thought it would be important to give something back. In Sub-Saharan Africa, every third child doesn't get the chance to go to school. Unicef Schools for Africa - among many others - are trying to change this. We believe what they are doing is one of the best ways to permanently reduce many of the problems that a lot of African countries face - poverty, disease, discrimination, environmental problems, etc.
Our trip is entirely self-funded so every penny of the money you donate will go straight to the people who need it. You can find out more about what Unicef for Schools are doing on their website. Please consider making a donation to help them empower the next generation of Africa's children to take control of their future. Your donation will go directly to Unicef projects in 11 sub-Saharan African countries – Angola, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, South Africa and Zimbabwe - which are working with governments and communities to create schools that offer a safe environment where children can learn, play and have access to clean water and sanitation facilities.
We'll be visiting some of these countries and will be reporting back on what's happening on the ground.
Please donate here by going to our Unicef Schools for Africa Fundraising Page.
